How is APWD different from other dance studios?

• A Truly Private™ dance studio. The studio is booked exclusively for you (i.e. no other dance lessons taking place at the same time as your lesson, no other students or teachers on the dance floor dancing circles around you and no other music playing to distract you).

• You will dance on a floating wood floor. In between the subfloor and the wooden surface there are rubber disks that help to cushion every step.

• Professional pictures of other wedding couples performing their first dances are displayed for your inspiration on the studio walls.

• You will learn from Kim Sakren, uniquely qualified to work with you no matter your level of dance experience. She has taken the combination of her dance training, performance experience, teaching skills in all areas of dance and added her own creativity to achieve a comfortable, confident and fun lesson for each couple. The result will be a custom dance choreographed to the song of your choosing, uniquely accommodating your personalities and abilities. Kim genuinely enjoys working with beginners and understands the unique pressures of planning a wedding.

• APWD provides a petticoat and veil for the bride and a jacket for the groom for a dress rehearsal without the dress.

• In addition to traditional ballroom dance moves, you will receive creative choreography that can include the use of props (if you want). Ideas can come from your relationship, so if you have something special between the two of you that can be incorporated into your dance, let's go for it!
