In her 15 years as a dance instructor, Kim Sakren has always enjoyed preparing couples for their wedding day.
She found that couples want to be able to impress their guests when they perform the traditional first dance at the wedding reception.
"I love being in people's lives at such a fun, exciting and romantic time," Sakren said. That is what compelled her to start A Perfect Wedding Dance, a business that caters to those looking to get just that.
A certified ballroom dance instructor, Sakren used to own and work out of a studio when she and her husband, Marko, lived in Connecticut. But after moving to Las Vegas, she decided she wanted to do her own thing.
"I love doing the choreography, and being able to use the (couples') personalities in that way to show what they want to express at that moment," Sakren said.
Sakren has taught dances to couples all over the valley, but the Summerlin resident mostly focuses on her area. She said it usually takes a minimum of three one-hour sessions for her students to perfect their routine.
